kidthing® and MrsP.com Announce Content Partnership
Las Vegas (January 8, 2009) — www.MrsP.com and kidthing, the digital media player made just for kids, announced today a content distribution partnership to bring Mrs.P’s classic children’s stories to kidthing. The new partnership makes Mrs. P’s videos available for purchase and download in the kidthing store beginning today. Ten percent of all MrsP.com’s after-tax profits will be donated by Mrs. P Enterprises, LLC to literacy organizations.
Mrs. P, played by actress Kathy Kinney, invites children to use their imaginations while she reads classic stories beside the crackling fire in her virtual library. The first Mrs. P titles released on kidthing are Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, The Princess and the Pea, The Frog Prince and The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin. Additional titles will be introduced on a monthly basis. They are available for $ .99.
“kidthing and www.MrsP.com share the same philosophy about providing a fun and safe place for children to play and learn on the Internet.” said Larry Hitchcock, CEO of kidthing. “kidthing provides kids and classrooms with outstanding content. Partnering with this critically-acclaimed new entertainment website for kids starring such a popular and talented actress is a perfect match for us”.
The Mrs. P titles join kidthing’s growing library of digital books, games, activities and videos which expanded with such recent additions as Animal Atlas, RINDIN the Puffer, Dive into Your Imagination and WeeSing. The kidthing online store is filled with digital learning and entertainment products for kids from leading brands like Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Scholastic, Garfield, HarperCollins Publishers, Penguin Young Readers Group, and many more. kidthing runs on Windows XP or Windows Vista and will be available for Mac at a future date.
“We hope Mrs. P’s videos will encourage kids to explore books and use their imaginations,” said Kinney, who played Mimi on the hit sitcom The Drew Carey Show and now stars as Mrs. P. “And kidthing is a fabulous way for us to reach more little readers.”
“Good stories can take kids on incredible adventures and also prepare them for life,” added Clay Graham, co-creator of the site and former executive producer of The Drew Carey Show. “The folks at kidthing understand that, which greatly impressed us.”
MrsP.com, praised by the LA Times as “a welcome departure from almost any other video entertainment available to kids,” has already shared its stories with thousands of young visitors, and the numbers continue to grow each day.
“We know parents like to have choices when looking for appropriate content for their children.” said Dana Plautz, cofounder of MrsP.com. “And kidthing, with its free player and safe, fun environment, gives them another great place to find Mrs. P.”
