Mrs. P Reads Classic Children’s Stories on iTunes
Portland, Ore.—December 9, 2008—www.MrsP.com, the critically-acclaimed new entertainment Website for kids starring actress Kathy Kinney as quirky redhead Mrs. P, announced today that its classic stories are now available on the iTunes Store (www.itunes.com). The videos, which feature Mrs. P reading popular children’s stories from her Magic Library, will be available for purchase and download on iTunes for $0.99 to $1.99 per video. Ten percent of all MrsP.com’s after-tax profits will be donated by Mrs. P Enterprises, LLC to literacy organizations.
“We hope that Mrs. P’s videos will encourage kids to love books and use their imaginations,” said Kinney, who played Mimi on the hit sitcom The Drew Carey Show. “If we can take some of the profits from those videos and pass them on to literacy groups, it creates a wonderful cycle of positive works.”
Launched less than a month ago, MrsP.com - praised by the LA Times as “a welcome departure from almost any other video entertainment available to kids” - has entertained thousands of young visitors, and the numbers continue to grow each day. By offering videos on the iTunes Store, Mrs. P will give fans another way to enjoy her storytelling skills.
“We heard from parents that they would like to be able to take Mrs. P on car trips, plane trips, to the dentist’s office - anywhere you can take an iPod or iPhone,” said Dana Plautz, co-founder of MrsP.com. Mrs. P videos range in length from five to 30 minutes and include such titles as Jack and the Beanstalk, Sleeping Beauty and The Princess and the Pea. Shorter videos will be paired up and sold together as single downloads. Mrs. P will update her selection of videos regularly with new stories.
Fans of Mrs. P can find her videos by going directly to the iTunes Store, or by using the iTunes link from the MrsP.com website. “This will be the only link on our site,” said Clay Graham, co-creator of the site and former executive producer of The Drew Carey Show. “With no other links, no ads and no subscription fees, we hope MrsP.com will be a fun, safe, welcoming place - so kids can focus on the important business of stealing geese from giants, outsmarting wolves and not getting cooked and eaten by witches.”
